Manchester United’s summer transfer activity is heating up with surprising developments on two fronts. The Red Devils have reportedly initiated discussions to sign Brighton’s Pervis Estupiñán, while Serie A powerhouse Juventus have intensified their pursuit of Jadon Sancho by raising their offer. As Erik ten Hag looks to reshape his squad, the club is juggling potential incomings and strategic exits.
Man United Make Move for Brighton’s Estupiñán
Manchester United have turned their attention to Brighton & Hove Albion’s dynamic full-back, Pervis Estupiñán, according to fresh reports. The Ecuador international, known for his pace and attacking contributions from the left flank, has emerged as a surprise target as United seek to bolster their defensive options.
United have reportedly held preliminary talks with Estupiñán’s representatives, signaling serious interest in a potential transfer. Brighton are said to be open to offers, especially after the recent acquisition of Belgian left-back Maxim De Cuyper from Club Brugge, which has strengthened their depth in the position.
Despite already having Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorgu in the squad, Ten Hag is thought to be considering further reinforcement due to ongoing uncertainty surrounding Tyrell Malacia, who could depart either on loan or permanently this summer.
Adding further complexity to the pursuit, AC Milan are also believed to be monitoring Estupiñán’s situation, potentially setting the stage for a competitive transfer battle.
Sancho’s Exit Edges Closer as Juventus Raise Their Offer
While eyes are on potential arrivals, Manchester United are also focused on trimming their squad—and Jadon Sancho is at the top of the outgoing list. Following his loan spell at Chelsea and their decision not to activate a purchase clause, Sancho is now being courted by Juventus, who remain eager to secure a deal.
According to respected Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, Juventus have increased their bid to £15 million, moving closer to United’s valuation, which is reportedly around €25 million. Despite still falling short, the new offer represents a notable improvement from their previous proposal that included add-ons.
However, the stumbling block remains Sancho’s hefty salary, which Juventus are reportedly reluctant to cover in full. This could mean further negotiations around wage contributions or even a restructured contract to facilitate the transfer.
Sancho, now in the final year of his contract, recently shared a farewell message to Chelsea fans on social media, expressing gratitude for his loan spell:
“Grateful for the experience. Big love to everyone at Chelsea who made me feel at home – team-mates, staff, and the fans. Wishing the club all the best moving forward.”
Other Transfer Developments
In addition to targeting Estupiñán, United continue to pursue Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo, having already seen two offers turned down. The club has also completed the signings of Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Diego León, a young talent from Paraguay’s Cerro Porteño, as Ten Hag aims to rebuild a more dynamic and youthful squad.
