Are Chelsea Strong Contenders for the 2025/26 Premier League Title?

Chelsea’s impressive summer signings, solid form, and favorable early-season fixtures have them poised to challenge for the 2025/26 Premier League title. With fresh talent and a new tactical approach, could the Blues finally lift the league trophy after nearly a decade?

As the 2025/26 Premier League season looms, Chelsea are entering with a newfound sense of optimism. After securing 12 wins in their last 15 matches, the Blues are in stellar form. With a substantial summer spending spree that saw them bring in several high-caliber players, could Chelsea finally mount a serious challenge for their first league title since 2017?

Chelsea’s summer transfer window has been nothing short of dynamic, with the club already splashing over £200m on new acquisitions. Seven fresh faces have arrived at Stamford Bridge, with many of them expected to play a pivotal role in Enzo Maresca’s vision for the club.

Among these signings, Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, who joined from Ipswich and Brighton respectively, bring added firepower to an attack led by Nicolas Jackson. Perhaps the most exciting acquisition is Jamie Gittens, a left-sided forward from Borussia Dortmund, whose arrival is expected to make a significant impact.

Maresca’s summer spending shows no signs of slowing down, with reports suggesting that Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is his top target for the remainder of the transfer window. Additionally, the Blues are linked with Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho, further strengthening their attacking options.

Under the guidance of Enzo Maresca, Chelsea’s attacking play will be defined by high pressing and pace, and it’s clear that the manager wants as much depth as possible in his front line. His squad now boasts multiple players for each attacking position, ensuring rotation is possible throughout the grueling season.

With the 2025 Club World Cup on the horizon, depth in attack will be vital for Chelsea, who will need fresh legs to compete on multiple fronts. Maresca’s tactics demand high energy, and the new signings reflect his need for versatile, high-intensity players.

Chelsea’s early-season fixtures appear to offer a golden chance for the team to build momentum. Their first ten league games include only one clash against a top-six side from last season, making it an opportune period to gain points and establish a foothold at the top of the table.

The Blues’ opening matches include a home game against Crystal Palace, followed by London derbies against West Ham, Fulham, and Brentford. The fixtures are relatively favorable, especially when compared to rivals like Arsenal and Liverpool, who face tougher early tests.

The Premier League’s Fixture Difficulty Ratings, which assess the difficulty of each team’s opening schedule, reveal that Chelsea’s start is one of the easiest, providing them with an ideal platform to strike early in the title race.

Despite Chelsea’s promising form and favorable fixtures, the betting markets still give them just an 11.11% chance of winning the Premier League this season. However, with Maresca’s proven tactics, their enhanced squad, and the soft opening fixtures, those odds could change rapidly.

By the time Chelsea reaches the first international break in October, they may find themselves firmly entrenched in the top spots, ready to push on for their first league title in nearly a decade.
