Arsenal could be poised for a summer shake-up as two of Mikel Arteta’s squad members — Fabio Vieira and Jakub Kiwior — attract interest from major European clubs. With the Gunners seeking to trim their roster and recoup funds, Bundesliga and Serie A sides are circling with potential offers. The North London club, however, is holding firm on their valuations.
Stuttgart Lead Chase for Fabio Vieira
Portuguese midfielder Fabio Vieira appears to be nearing the end of his Arsenal chapter. The 25-year-old, signed from FC Porto in 2022 for approximately £32 million, has struggled to establish himself under Arteta. Despite flashes of promise, his tally stands at just three goals and ten assists across 49 appearances in all competitions.
Following a season-long loan back at Porto during the 2024/25 campaign, Vieira is now on the radar of Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart. According to The Athletic, the German club has already approached Arsenal and is working on a deal for a permanent transfer. Negotiations are said to be ongoing, with the Gunners keen to secure a “respectable” fee to reflect their initial investment.
Juventus and Porto Target Jakub Kiwior
Meanwhile, Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior is also drawing significant interest from abroad. The Polish international, who joined from Spezia in January 2023, has struggled for consistent game time but has impressed when called upon — particularly during the latter part of last season when Gabriel Magalhães was sidelined.
Italian giants Juventus are reportedly keeping close tabs on the 25-year-old. With uncertainty surrounding Lloyd Kelly’s future — despite his recent arrival from Newcastle — Kiwior is being viewed as a prime replacement candidate. The versatile, left-footed defender is a long-term target for Juve boss Igor Tudor, and could fit seamlessly into their back three.
Porto, Kiwior’s former suitor, have also submitted an offer that was ultimately rejected, signaling Arsenal’s intent to hold out for a minimum of €25–30 million (£21.7–26m). Juventus, feeling the pressure from Porto’s active pursuit, may wait until later in the window when Kelly’s situation becomes clearer.
Arsenal Standing Firm on Transfer Valuations
With both players attracting genuine interest, Arsenal’s position is clear — no cut-price deals. The club is aiming to generate significant returns on both Vieira and Kiwior to support future transfer plans, possibly reinvesting in other squad areas. As the window progresses, fans can expect continued movement as European clubs push to finalise their squads before the deadline.
