Harry Kane’s next career move is already generating headlines—two years before it could happen. While the England captain continues to shine at Bayern Munich, fresh reports suggest he’s set his sights on a major move to La Liga, with Barcelona emerging as a serious contender. However, Premier League giants Manchester United and former club Tottenham Hotspur remain in the conversation.

Kane’s Bayern Chapter: Trophies and Goals Galore

After a long and loyal spell at Tottenham Hotspur, Harry Kane made the leap to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023 for a reported £86 million. His decision came as he entered the final year of his Spurs contract, with no signs of extending his stay in North London.

Kane has since enjoyed a prolific run in Germany, racking up 98 goals in just 103 appearances. More importantly, he finally ended his long wait for a major trophy by helping Bayern secure the Bundesliga title last season.

Exit Clause Could Spark Summer 2026 Transfer

Despite his success at the Allianz Arena, Kane’s future is far from settled. According to recent reports, his contract includes a release clause that would allow him to leave Bayern in 2026 for under £60 million—a price tag that has reignited interest from both Manchester United and Tottenham.

Yet, it’s Spanish giants Barcelona who have reportedly jumped to the front of the queue. A new report out of Spain claims Kane has already reached a verbal agreement to succeed Robert Lewandowski at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona Move Appeals to Kane—Here’s Why

The report states that Barcelona view Kane as a more affordable option compared to other targets like Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez. Kane is said to be “delighted to accept” the potential move, motivated by two key factors: the opportunity to work under head coach Hansi Flick and the allure of playing for one of Europe’s most storied clubs.

Though content at Bayern, Kane is reportedly intrigued by the challenge and sees Barcelona as a team where he could still compete at the highest level, especially after missing out on Champions League glory in Germany—a key ambition in his career.

United and Spurs Still in the Frame

While Barcelona may have Kane’s early approval, a return to the Premier League hasn’t been ruled out. Manchester United, long-time admirers of the striker, could reignite their interest, especially given Rasmus Højlund’s underwhelming impact since arriving as an alternative to Kane.

However, former England striker Teddy Sheringham believes a homecoming to Tottenham is the most logical next step if Kane does return to England. Speaking recently, Sheringham said, “For me, Tottenham would be the obvious choice. I couldn’t see why the club wouldn’t want him back if that became a possibility and I’m sure the Spurs supporters would welcome him back with open arms.”

Sheringham also acknowledged the unpredictable nature of football transfers but emphasized that, even at 32, Kane remains one of the most in-demand forwards in world football.
