AC Milan are exploring a move for Breel Embolo from Monaco as an alternative to Dusan Vlahovic, with the Juventus striker’s salary demands proving to be a hurdle in their pursuit.
AC Milan are considering Breel Embolo of Monaco as an alternative to Dusan Vlahovic as they look to strengthen their attack for the 2025-26 season. The Serie A giants face financial and salary hurdles in their pursuit of the Juventus striker.

AC Milan have reportedly established contacts with Monaco’s Breel Embolo after learning of the complexities involved in signing Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus. While Vlahovic remains Milan’s primary target, the club is exploring other options, with Embolo emerging as a potential signing. The Rossoneri are keen on finding a competitor for Santiago Gimenez in their attack, as they look to rebuild ahead of the new season.
Milan’s interest in Vlahovic has been well documented, with the striker’s impressive form at Juventus making him a prime candidate to bolster their frontline. However, Vlahovic’s €12 million net salary demands have proven to be a significant obstacle. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan would only pursue Vlahovic seriously if he agrees to a severance package from Juventus and accepts a salary offer of around €6 million plus bonuses.
Meanwhile, Monaco are open to selling Embolo, with the striker previously rejecting a move to Besiktas. Monaco has set a €15 million price tag on the Swiss international, and AC Milan have initiated talks with the French club to finalize a deal.

While Vlahovic remains their preferred choice, the financial challenges are undeniable, and Milan are exploring other possibilities. As Fabrizio Romano reports, Monaco will not block Embolo’s departure, and Milan are actively pursuing him as a potential solution to their striking needs.
With Embolo available for a fee of €15 million, Milan are also keeping an eye on other targets like Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen and Jean-Philippe Mateta from Crystal Palace. The club has already made some key moves this summer, securing Luka Modric on a free transfer and negotiating to bring in Ardon Jashari. They are also thrilled to have convinced Rafael Leao to stay at San Siro for the upcoming season.
