Al-Hilal Set to Challenge Premier League Giants for RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko

RB Leipzig’s promising striker Benjamin Sesko, who impressed with 21 goals last season, has become a target for Saudi Pro League powerhouse Al-Hilal. Despite interest from top European clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal, the 22-year-old could make a surprise move to the Saudi side in a £77M deal. This potential transfer is a key part of Al-Hilal’s strategy to strengthen their attack.

RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is generating significant interest across Europe, but it’s Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal who are set to make a bold move. The 22-year-old striker, who opted to stay in the Bundesliga last season to further his development, had an impressive campaign, notching 21 goals in all competitions. This form has seen him catch the eye of top clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal, both of whom are in search of a prolific forward to boost their attacking options.

However, according to recent reports, Al-Hilal are preparing to make a £77M bid for Sesko, which could dramatically alter the striker’s future. The club, having already lined up a deal for AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez, is reportedly keen to add a younger, more dynamic forward to complement Aleksandar Mitrovic, their current star striker. Despite already having an established number nine in Mitrovic, Al-Hilal are determined to bolster their attacking depth with Sesko’s clinical finishing ability.

The Saudi club’s approach is more than just a financial one. Al-Hilal have established themselves as the dominant force in the Saudi Pro League and are determined to retain their title. Securing a player of Sesko’s caliber would be a statement of intent as they continue to attract high-profile talent to the league.

For Sesko, this move could offer the chance to lead the line for one of Asia’s most successful teams and continue his development in a league that is rapidly growing in stature. Although he had the opportunity to join top European clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal, the lure of regular first-team football and the chance to compete for trophies in the Saudi Pro League could be too appealing to pass up.

Al-Hilal’s strategy to recruit top European talent is well-documented, with the club already boasting a squad filled with international stars. Their pursuit of Sesko highlights their ambition to continue strengthening their squad and remain at the forefront of Saudi football. Whether or not the deal materializes will depend on the outcome of negotiations with Leipzig, but with the financial backing of the Saudi Pro League, Al-Hilal are in a strong position to make a competitive offer.

For Manchester United and Arsenal, the prospect of losing out on Sesko to a Saudi club will certainly be frustrating, especially as both clubs are in need of a reliable striker to challenge for top honors. With Rasmus Hojlund and Kai Havertz struggling to find consistency in the Premier League, securing a clinical striker remains a priority.

However, if Al-Hilal can finalize their bid and offer Sesko the right terms, it could force both English clubs to rethink their transfer strategies. It’s clear that while European clubs remain the preferred destination for many players, the Saudi Pro League’s growing influence cannot be ignored, and Al-Hilal are leading the charge in this new era.
