Andre Onana Faces Shock Manchester United Exit as Senne Lammens Deal Nears Completion

Andre Onana’s Manchester United future is under serious threat, with West Ham emerging as surprise contenders for the goalkeeper. The Red Devils are closing in on Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens, a move that could push the Cameroonian out of Old Trafford just a year after his high-profile arrival.

Manchester United’s goalkeeping shake-up could see Andre Onana leave the club this summer, with West Ham United reportedly keen on signing the shot-stopper.

The Red Devils are close to completing a deal for Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp, a move that could have major implications for Onana and Altay Bayindir.

Lammens deal edging closer

According to Belgian reports, Lammens was left out of Royal Antwerp’s matchday squad in their Pro League clash with Mechelen, fuelling speculation that his move to Manchester United is imminent. The 22-year-old Belgian is highly rated and could be installed as United’s new long-term No.1.

Onana’s uncertain future

If Lammens arrives, it leaves the futures of both Onana and Bayindir hanging in the balance. Manager Ruben Amorim has already shown his preference for Bayindir, starting him in United’s opening Premier League games against Arsenal and Fulham. Onana, meanwhile, has been left sidelined despite arriving at Old Trafford just last season in a £47m deal from Inter Milan.

West Ham show interest

According to United in Focus, West Ham are exploring the possibility of signing Onana, with a loan move under consideration. Graham Potter’s side already brought in Mads Hermansen this summer, but the Hammers are keen to further reinforce their goalkeeping options as they aim for a strong campaign in both the Premier League and Europe.

Busy final week ahead

Manchester United are expected to be active in the final days of the transfer window. With the Lammens transfer edging closer, a decision on Onana’s future will soon follow. For now, the Cameroonian finds himself in limbo, caught between a potential fresh start in London and the possibility of fighting for his place at Old Trafford.

United face Grimsby in the Carabao Cup this week before hosting Burnley in the Premier League – but it remains to be seen whether Onana will feature in either fixture.
