Bryan Mbeumo’s Manchester United Debut Date Confirmed Ahead of Everton Clash

Bryan Mbeumo is all set to make his much-anticipated Manchester United debut on Sunday, as confirmed by manager Ruben Amorim. The £71m ($95.5m) summer signing from Brentford will finally get a chance to show what he can bring to the Red Devils as they face Everton in their final pre-season match.

Manchester United fans have eagerly awaited the debut of their new striker, Bryan Mbeumo, and the wait is finally over. After joining from Brentford for a reported £71 million ($95.5m) earlier in the window, Mbeumo will make his first appearance in a United shirt on Sunday against Everton in a pre-season friendly.

Amorim’s Excitement:

Speaking ahead of the match, United boss Ruben Amorim couldn’t hide his excitement about Mbeumo’s upcoming debut. “He’s going to play,” Amorim confirmed. “I’m really excited to see him playing and what he can give to our team. But I was also really excited to see the team playing the last game. You maybe looked at the starting line-up and said, ‘nothing to see today,’ but I was so excited because I know we can do better.”

Mbeumo’s debut will give fans a first glimpse of what the Cameroonian international can add to the team as the Red Devils prepare for the start of the new season.

The Bigger Picture:

Mbeumo is the latest addition to a United squad that is still looking to strengthen further, with reports linking them to a move for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko. However, it looks like the Slovenian forward could be joining Newcastle instead. Meanwhile, United’s search for a new goalkeeper continues, with Andre Onana’s replacement still unconfirmed.

Despite these ongoing transfer talks, Amorim remains optimistic about his current squad. “We are always looking to improve the team and we have some characteristics that we would like to have,” said the manager, adding that much of the team’s progress will depend on the market and any potential sales.

What’s Next for United?

After their final pre-season fixture against Fiorentina, Manchester United will face Arsenal in their opening match of the 2025-26 Premier League season on August 17 at Old Trafford. The Gunners, who have been a strong contender in the transfer market, will present a tough test for United, having not lost to the Red Devils in the league since 2022. With the addition of Mbeumo and other fresh signings, United will be hoping to hit the ground running as they aim for a successful campaign.
