Dani Olmo Claims Barcelona Have Outperformed Real Madrid in Summer Transfer Market

Barcelona star Dani Olmo has praised his club’s summer transfer dealings, claiming that the Catalans have done “even better” than their rivals Real Madrid. Olmo highlighted Barcelona’s successful signings, including Marcus Rashford and Joan Garcia, despite missing out on key targets like Nico Williams and Luis Diaz. The Spain international’s comments add fuel to the ongoing rivalry between the two giants of La Liga.

Barcelona’s summer transfer business has caught the attention of many, and Dani Olmo believes his club has outshone their bitter rivals, Real Madrid, in the market this year. Despite failed pursuits of high-profile targets such as Nico Williams and Luis Diaz, Barcelona have secured key signings, including England international Marcus Rashford and goalkeeper Joan Garcia. Olmo, speaking on COPE’s El Partidazo, was quick to voice his opinion that Barcelona have made superior moves in this window compared to Madrid.

“Madrid will also want to have the best players, so in that sense, it’s very good. We’ve also strengthened our position, and even better, I’d say,” Olmo stated, adding a confident twist to the ongoing rivalry between the two clubs.

While Madrid has been busy bolstering their squad, bringing in players like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen, Barcelona’s business has focused on filling key gaps in their team. With Rashford’s pace and power joining the front line and Garcia’s potential bolstering the defense, Barcelona are looking to challenge for major trophies once again.

The question now is whether these summer signings will prove enough for Barcelona to outpace Real Madrid in the upcoming La Liga season. Both clubs are expected to battle it out for the title in what could be another exciting campaign for Spanish football.

Real Madrid, who struggled with consistency last season, are undergoing their own transformation, with the club bringing in notable names as they look to improve on last year’s performances. But as both clubs prepare for their respective pre-season schedules, the pressure is on to deliver as they vie for supremacy in La Liga once again.

As the season edges closer, it will be fascinating to see how Barcelona’s transfer strategy plays out in comparison to Madrid’s, with the two clubs set to clash in what could be one of the most intense title races in years.

Previous Article Liverpool have reached an agreement with French club Lyon for the transfer of young midfielder Tyler Morton, with the deal valued at £15 million. The 22-year-old England Under-21 star will be heading to Ligue 1 after making just 14 senior appearances for the Reds, as Jurgen Klopp looks to make space for further acquisitions. Morton’s move to Lyon is expected to be finalised soon, with negotiations reported to be at the "final stages" according to reliable sources like Fabrizio Romano. While Morton has shown promise, his lack of regular first-team action at Liverpool — making only five appearances last season — has led to a move away from Anfield. Despite his limited appearances, Morton played an instrumental role in England's Under-21 European Championship victory, assisting the winning goal in the final. The sale of Morton, an academy graduate, represents pure profit for Liverpool, adding to their funds as they continue to eye major signings this summer. The move could also serve as a precursor to Liverpool's ongoing efforts to sign a marquee player, with Alexander Isak still heavily linked to the club. Though their initial £120 million bid for the Newcastle striker was rejected, Liverpool remains in the market for a high-profile signing, and the Morton sale could pave the way for further business. For Morton, a move to Lyon presents an exciting opportunity for more regular first-team football at a prestigious European club, despite Lyon's current financial difficulties. The seven-time Ligue 1 champions are aiming to rebuild and return to their former glory, and Morton could play a key role in that vision. Meanwhile, Liverpool’s transfer strategy isn’t just about buying; it’s also about raising funds through sales, and Morton’s departure could signal more exits in the coming weeks. Players like Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott are also being linked with potential moves, as the Reds continue to reshape their squad. As for Isak, the saga is far from over, and Liverpool’s pursuit of the Swedish striker could continue into the final weeks of the transfer window.
