Harry Kane Chases Ballon d’Or Glory as Bayern Munich Crush Pafos 5-1 in Champions League

Harry Kane scored twice and Michael Olise delivered a masterclass as Bayern Munich dismantled Champions League debutants Pafos 5-1, with Nicolas Jackson netting his first goal since joining on loan from Chelsea.

Kane, Olise & Jackson Shine in Cyprus

Bayern Munich showed no mercy against Champions League newcomers Pafos, storming to a 5-1 victory that highlighted both their attacking depth and their Ballon d’Or candidate in Harry Kane. The England captain netted a brace to take his tally to 17 goals this season, while Michael Olise ran the show with two assists and a goal of his own.

Nicolas Jackson also enjoyed a breakthrough moment, scoring his first Bayern goal since arriving on loan from Chelsea on deadline day.

Early Blitz Leaves Pafos Shell-Shocked

It took Bayern just 15 minutes to assert control. Olise danced past his marker before sliding a precise pass to Kane, who finished clinically. Minutes later, the Frenchman was at it again, combining with Raphael Guerreiro to make it 2-0.

By the half-hour mark, Olise capped a dazzling solo run by setting up Jackson for his first Bayern strike. Kane then grabbed his second, coolly cutting through Pafos’ defence after being teed up by Luis Díaz.

Although Mislav Oršić pulled one back for the hosts just before half-time, Bayern’s dominance was never in doubt.

Olise the Star Performer

If Kane’s goals put him firmly in the Ballon d’Or conversation, it was Olise who stole the spotlight in Cyprus. The 23-year-old winger was electric throughout his 73 minutes on the pitch — scoring once, assisting twice, and dictating the rhythm of Bayern’s attack.

Jackson also impressed with his movement and confidence, while Luis Díaz added creative spark on the flank.

Bayern Keep Winning Run Alive

The second half saw Bayern extend their lead when Olise pounced on a rebound to score their fifth. From start to finish, Vincent Kompany’s side were in complete control, extending their winning run to nine games in all competitions and maintaining a flawless record in Europe this season.

Pafos, meanwhile, endured a harsh lesson in Champions League football, unable to cope with the intensity and quality of Bayern’s attack.
