Luis Diaz Nearing Potential Exit with Bayern Munich Circling

Liverpool winger Luis Diaz could be on the verge of a high-profile move to Bayern Munich, with negotiations reportedly accelerating as the German giants set a tight deadline to finalize the deal. While Liverpool remain firm on their asking price, Bayern are eager to close the gap and secure the Colombian international within days.

Bayern Munich Step Up Pursuit of Diaz

According to fresh reports from Spain, Bayern Munich have submitted an official offer of €52 million (£45 million) for Diaz, who is said to be open to a move. The Bundesliga side, now under the leadership of Vincent Kompany, view Diaz as a key piece in their squad rebuild and are keen to wrap up the deal within a week.

However, Liverpool are holding firm on their valuation, reportedly demanding more than €70 million (£60 million) for the 28-year-old attacker. The £15 million gap in valuations has stalled progress, but talks remain ongoing between the two clubs.

Liverpool Focus Shifted to Outgoings

After completing a busy start to the summer transfer window with five new signings—including notable arrivals such as Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong—Liverpool are now prioritizing departures. Diaz, along with striker Darwin Nunez and defender Ibrahima Konaté, has been mentioned as a possible exit amid squad reshuffling under manager Arne Slot.

Slot, who guided Liverpool to a Premier League title in his debut season, is reportedly looking to reshape the squad further, and Diaz’s potential departure could free up funds for a new attacking option.

Diaz Breaks Silence on Transfer Talks

Speaking recently about his future, Diaz remained non-committal but acknowledged ongoing discussions with Liverpool management.

“We don’t know yet. Nothing to say,” Diaz stated. “We’re talking with the management. We’re calm. We’ll see what can be achieved—for us and for the club.”

He also addressed reported interest from Saudi club Al-Nassr, confirming that his camp is in discussions with various parties but emphasized that he is currently happy at Liverpool while weighing the best decision for his career.

Barcelona Pull Out, Bayern Remain Confident

Barcelona, once linked with Diaz, have reportedly dropped out of the race due to Liverpool’s high asking price, leaving Bayern Munich as the frontrunners. The Bavarians are determined not to let negotiations drag beyond July and are believed to be considering an improved offer to bridge the financial gap.

Despite the mounting interest, Liverpool are unwilling to lower their demands, standing by Diaz’s market value amid growing external pressure.

Scout Offers Candid Assessment of Diaz

Former Barcelona scout Bojan Krkic Sr. recently voiced concerns about Diaz’s consistency, a factor he believes could hinder a top-club move.

“Luis Diaz is a great player, but he lacks consistent performance,” Krkic said. “He can be brilliant in short spells but disappears too often. I wouldn’t sign him if I were at Barça.”

Still, Bayern appear undeterred, confident that Diaz can thrive in the Bundesliga with a leading role under Kompany.

What’s Next?

With Bayern Munich eager to finalize the transfer soon and Diaz reportedly receptive to a new challenge, the next few days could be decisive. Whether Liverpool hold out for their full valuation or compromise to facilitate the move remains to be seen, but all signs suggest this saga is reaching a critical stage.
