Premier League duo tracking Juventus loanee amid uncertain futures for Isak and United’s frontline

Randal Kolo Muani is back in the shop window, and the Premier League is watching closely. Manchester United and Newcastle United have both made enquiries about the French striker’s availability, as they explore options to reinforce their forward lines ahead of the new season.

The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Juventus, where he has been quietly rebuilding his stock. After a stop-start stint at Paris Saint-Germain, Kolo Muani has reignited his career in Turin, scoring eight times in 19 matches and earning admiration for his intelligent movement and explosive transitions. Juventus want to keep him longer, but PSG are reportedly only interested in a permanent sale.

That stance has opened the door to fresh Premier League interest. According to Foot Mercato, both United and Newcastle have been in contact over a potential deal. It’s a shift in focus for both clubs, who were previously linked with Hugo Ekitike, another PSG forward who is expected to leave this summer. But Kolo Muani, with his recent form and higher ceiling, is now the more appealing option.

For Newcastle, any move may hinge on the future of Alexander Isak. Liverpool have expressed strong interest in the Swedish forward, and if a blockbuster offer comes in, the Magpies will need a proven replacement. Kolo Muani, who exploded at Eintracht Frankfurt with 26 goals in the 2022/23 campaign, fits the bill as a mobile, dynamic striker who can lead the line or play off the shoulder.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are still building under new boss Rúben Amorim. The signing of Matheus Cunha has added creativity and flair, but there’s still a clear need for a natural No. 9—someone with poacher instincts and top-level experience. Kolo Muani ticks those boxes, and United are hoping to wrap up the signing of Bryan Mbeumo to support the rebuild in attack.

Kolo Muani’s story at PSG never really took off. Signed for around £76 million in 2023, he struggled to carve out a regular starting role under a crowded forward rotation. His Ligue 1 minutes were limited last season, with just 10 league appearances—mostly from the bench—before he was shipped out on loan to Italy.

Now, with his stock rising again and PSG eager to cash in, this summer represents a pivotal crossroads for the French international. The question is no longer whether he’s good enough for the elite level—Juventus have shown he is—but which project suits him best long-term.

As Newcastle brace for potential upheaval and United continue their squad overhaul, Kolo Muani’s next move could shape the attack of whichever club wins the race.
