Juventus is reportedly closing in on a permanent deal for Francisco Conceicao from FC Porto, complicating Manchester United’s attempts to sell Jadon Sancho. While negotiations continue, both players could join the Italian giants, depending on squad changes.
Manchester United has been dealt a significant blow in their bid to sell Jadon Sancho after Juventus advanced in negotiations to sign Francisco Conceicao from FC Porto. While Sancho has been linked with a move to Turin, Juventus are now prioritizing the acquisition of Conceicao, with the 21-year-old winger impressing during his loan spell and becoming a key target for the Serie A giants.
Juventus are reportedly on the verge of finalizing a permanent deal for Francisco Conceicao, after he impressed during his loan spell with the club. Sky Italy has confirmed that the Italian club is in advanced talks with FC Porto for the player’s permanent acquisition, and everything is progressing positively.

Ben Jacobs further reported that although Everton are willing to meet Porto’s asking price of €30 million (£26m/$35m) for Conceicao, the winger is not interested in a move to Merseyside and has his heart set on Juventus.
Despite Juventus’ strong pursuit of Conceicao, there are reports suggesting they may not abandon their interest in Jadon Sancho just yet. Football Italia states that Juventus are still monitoring Sancho’s situation at Manchester United, and depending on departures, they could still pursue both players.
A potential sale of Nico Gonzalez to the Saudi Pro League would free up both squad space and funds on the wage bill, giving Juventus more flexibility to pursue additional high-profile signings, including Sancho. Furthermore, discussions with Sporting CP over the sale of midfielder Alberto Costa could further enhance their financial power, allowing them to make a move for both Conceicao and Sancho.
Jadon Sancho’s situation at Old Trafford has reached a standoff. After joining United for £74m from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, Sancho now has one year left on his contract. The winger is reportedly demanding a €5m severance package (£4m/$6m) to terminate his deal early and facilitate a move away from Manchester.
However, Sancho is willing to take a significant salary cut to make a transfer happen. Reports suggest that he would be ready to lower his annual salary to around £7m ($9m), which is a drop of more than £120,000 per week from his current wage.
Juventus have already submitted an offer worth £5m plus performance-related bonuses, which totals just over £130,000 per week. While the gap between Sancho’s wage expectations and Juventus’ offer is narrowing, it remains to be seen if both parties can come to an agreement.

In terms of the transfer fee, Juventus have reportedly proposed an initial payment of €25m (£21m/$29m) for Sancho, with additional bonuses. However, this figure falls short of Manchester United’s valuation, and the Premier League side’s heavy summer spending on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo may limit their negotiating flexibility.
If the sale of Sancho goes through, United would gain some much-needed financial relief, potentially enabling them to pursue further transfers in the final weeks of the window.
