Maurizio Sarri Hospitalized After Illness During Lazio Training in Scorching Heat, Returns to Work Later the Same Day

Lazio’s Maurizio Sarri was hospitalized after feeling unwell during training in Rome’s intense heat. After a precautionary check-up, Sarri returned to work the same day. The club has assured fans that the 66-year-old is stable and will continue his duties as Lazio prepares for the new Serie A season.

Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri was rushed to the hospital after feeling unwell during a training session in Rome’s blistering summer heat. The 66-year-old ex-Chelsea boss collapsed due to the intense conditions, with temperatures in the Italian capital soaring over 30°C. Fortunately, Sarri was discharged after a thorough check-up and returned to lead his team’s training later in the day, assuring fans of his stable condition.

On Wednesday, Maurizio Sarri fell ill while overseeing Lazio’s pre-season training session, which was held under the sweltering Roman sun. With the temperature pushing 30°C, the experienced manager was immediately taken to the hospital for medical evaluation. His condition prompted concern, but after undergoing a thorough health check, Sarri was cleared and later returned to Lazio’s training center in Formello to continue preparations for the upcoming season.

Lazio swiftly issued a statement following the incident, confirming that Sarri was in stable health. The club reassured fans that the manager would resume his duties without delay:
“Coach Sarri is returning to Formello and will lead the training session at 6:00 PM as scheduled.” The club also mentioned that Sarri had undergone a more comprehensive fitness check than the routine tests performed on the players, ensuring his well-being.

Sarri, who rejoined Lazio last month on a two-year contract, spent one season at Chelsea, where he won the Europa League and secured a third-place finish in the Premier League. Known for his unique style and tactical acumen, Sarri’s time at Chelsea and Juventus was marked by notable achievements, and his return to Lazio has been met with enthusiasm in the Serie A. Sarri is considered one of Italy’s most influential coaches, and despite the scare, his health appears to be stable enough for him to continue guiding Lazio through their pre-season preparations.

As Lazio continues its pre-season training, the club will closely monitor Sarri’s health to ensure his workload is appropriately adjusted in the summer heat. With Serie A just around the corner, the veteran coach is set to lead Lazio in the upcoming season, with fans hoping for another successful campaign under his leadership.
