Nottingham Forest have made a loan proposal for Juventus’ Douglas Luiz, with the Serie A club demanding €40m for the midfielder, who is pushing for a Premier League return.
Nottingham Forest have made an approach for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz, with the Brazilian pushing for a return to the Premier League after a challenging spell in Italy. Forest have offered a loan move for Luiz with an option to buy, which could become an obligation based on certain performance criteria. However, Juventus are holding out for €40 million (£34m/$46m) to avoid a loss on the player and generate necessary funds for the current transfer window.
Luiz was signed by Juventus for €51 million (£44m/$58m) under former manager Thiago Motta. However, a combination of poor performances, injury struggles, and disciplinary issues, including a failure to report for preseason training, has led to his decline at the club. The situation worsened further with the sacking of Motta, and Luiz has since been deemed surplus to requirements. In an attempt to offload him, Juventus even proposed a swap deal with Sporting for midfielder Morten Hjulmand.

Despite the rocky season, Luiz’s quality remains undeniable. His technical ability and defensive discipline have attracted interest from multiple clubs, with Forest looking to capitalize on the situation. Their loan offer could be an attractive proposition, though the €40 million price tag remains a significant hurdle.
Forest aren’t stopping with Luiz, as they are also reportedly close to finalizing a deal for Bologna winger Dan Ndoye, seen as a direct replacement for Anthony Elanga, who recently moved to another club.
The midfielder, who has 19 caps for Brazil, will hope that his future is decided soon, as he looks to get back on track in a familiar league. Juventus, meanwhile, will be eager to attract further suitors in the coming weeks, as manager Tudor appears to have no plans for Luiz in the squad for next season.
