Ruben Amorim Plans Team-Bonding Trips for Manchester United After Carabao Cup Exit

After a humiliating Carabao Cup exit to League Two side Grimsby, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly planning team-bonding trips to Portugal and Dubai to fill midweek gaps in the Red Devils’ schedule. With no European football this season, Amorim intends to strengthen squad unity through warm-weather training camps while aiming to improve the team’s consistency ahead of key domestic fixtures

Ruben Amorim, the newly appointed manager at Manchester United, is reportedly taking a proactive approach to address the squad’s morale after a humiliating Carabao Cup defeat to League Two side Grimsby. With no European football on the horizon this season, the Red Devils will have several midweek breaks, which Amorim is keen to utilize for team-building activities.

In an effort to strengthen squad unity and improve performance, Amorim is reportedly planning warm-weather training camps in Portugal’s Algarve or Dubai. These trips aim to break the monotony of domestic fixtures and offer the team a fresh environment to bond. Amorim believes that these mini-breaks, like the ones the squad had during the summer in the U.S. for the Premier League Summer Series, played a key role in bringing the players closer together.

The lack of European competition this term, coupled with a disappointing Carabao Cup exit, has left United with only one midweek fixture before Christmas—an away clash against West Ham on December 3. Amorim is aiming to make the most of the downtime by keeping the squad motivated and ensuring they maintain focus on domestic action.

However, these team-bonding trips have not yet been signed off by United’s hierarchy. While discussions have taken place, no trips will be organized during October and November due to a busy international fixture schedule, with several of United’s players away on national team duty.

The Red Devils, who are looking to regain some consistency after a rocky start to the season, will return to Premier League action on September 14 with a derby showdown against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Amorim will undoubtedly hope that his squad will carry the renewed sense of unity from these team-building trips into their next challenging run of domestic fixtures.
