Noni Madueke says he joined Arsenal “to win it all,” as the Gunners complete a £52m move for the former Chelsea winger ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Noni Madueke has wasted no time setting lofty targets after sealing a £52 million move from Chelsea to Arsenal, declaring his ambition to “win all the competitions” and help the Gunners “take that next step” under Mikel Arteta.
The 22-year-old winger signed a five-year deal at the Emirates, making a controversial switch between two bitter Premier League rivals. While the fee raised eyebrows among Arsenal fans—particularly given Madueke’s limited game time at Chelsea last season—Arteta was reportedly adamant about the signing, convinced Madueke’s dynamism and flair will bring much-needed depth and unpredictability to the wide positions.
“I’m someone who goes with my gut,” Madueke told Arsenal’s media team. “It’s brought me here, and I truly believe this will be a great success. I’m proud to be part of this club and excited to help it achieve great things.”

The England youth international, who was also developed at PSV Eindhoven, made his intentions clear for the 2025-26 campaign:
To win all the competitions we’re in. I feel like we’re definitely capable of doing that, Madueke said. “And also to help the team in every way I can and grow as a player, but also as a person.”
With Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli established as first-choice wingers, Madueke will need to prove his worth, but his arrival adds another attacking threat as Arsenal aim to finally end their long wait for a major trophy under Arteta.
While many welcomed the ambition shown by the Arsenal board, some questioned the logic of splashing £52m on a player who struggled to secure a consistent starting role at Chelsea. But with Arteta’s proven track record of player development—and a high-octane playing style that suits Madueke’s strengths—the move could prove to be a masterstroke if he fulfills his potential.

Madueke will quickly get the chance to gel with his new teammates, as Arsenal jet off for their Asia pre-season tour. The Gunners will take on AC Milan and Newcastle United in Singapore, before rounding off the trip with a London derby showdown against Spurs in Hong Kong.
Madueke becomes Arsenal’s third major signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Mikel Merino and Riccardo Calafiori, as the club looks to close the gap on Manchester City and finally bring silverware back to north London.
