Alexander Isak Criticized for Unprofessional Behavior Amid Liverpool Transfer Interest

Alexander Isak has come under fire for his handling of the transfer speculation linking him with Liverpool. Former Chelsea and Aston Villa striker Tony Cascarino has criticized the Newcastle forward for “throwing his toys out the pram” and urged him to honor his contract with the Magpies, despite his desire for a move.

Alexander Isak’s transfer saga has taken a controversial turn, with the Newcastle striker facing severe criticism over his conduct. Former Chelsea and Aston Villa forward, Tony Cascarino, slammed Isak for a lack of professionalism after the Swedish international’s head was reportedly turned by interest from Liverpool. Despite the 25-year-old expressing a clear desire to leave St James’ Park this summer, Cascarino believes Isak should honor his contract and not “throw his toys out the pram.”

Liverpool’s £120 million ($159m) bid for Isak was reportedly rejected by Newcastle, and the striker’s absence from the club’s pre-season tour in South Korea has raised eyebrows. While Newcastle maintains that Isak is recovering from injury, reports suggest that the forward has been training alone at Real Sociedad’s facilities, a move many fans interpret as an attempt to push for a transfer.

What Cascarino Said:

Speaking on talkSPORT, Cascarino emphasized that players must respect their contracts, regardless of transfer interest. He said: “If you sign a contract, you have to honor it. He’s got three years to go, so that puts him in a very difficult position.”

Cascarino was particularly critical of Isak’s decision to train away from the team, adding, “His pre-season is completely messed up by having his head turned. That’s not Liverpool’s fault, or Newcastle’s. It’s sometimes down to the responsibility of a player, who has to handle himself in the right way.”

Isak’s Future:

As of now, Isak remains part of Newcastle’s plans, but his future at the club is uncertain. With the Magpies set to finish their Asia tour with a friendly against Tottenham on Sunday, attention will turn to whether Isak will be reintegrated into the squad or if his desire to move to Liverpool will ultimately lead to a transfer.

Cascarino’s comments underscore the growing pressure on Isak to resolve his situation with professionalism, with Newcastle fans hoping the Swedish forward will either commit to the club or move on without causing unnecessary drama.
