Nicolas Jackson's future could be tied to Alexander Isak.

As the summer transfer window hurtles toward its conclusion, Chelsea are once again at the center of high-stakes negotiations. The club’s plans for both incoming and outgoing players hinge on the movements of other European giants, with key developments involving Nicolas Jackson’s proposed loan to Bayern Munich and a renewed push for Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez. With transfer dominoes poised to fall, Chelsea’s late-window strategy is taking shape — and it could have major implications across the Premier League and beyond.

Jackson’s Bayern Move Stalls as Chelsea Monitor Isak Situation

Chelsea are reportedly delaying Nicolas Jackson’s loan move to Bayern Munich as they keep a close watch on Alexander Isak’s potential switch to Liverpool. According to Sky Germany, the Senegalese striker has already reached a full agreement with Bayern on personal terms, with the Bundesliga champions prepared to cover his entire salary for the duration of the loan.

While talks between Chelsea and Bayern are said to be at an advanced stage, the final green light is being held back. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano and The Daily Telegraph’s Matt Law both report that Chelsea are exercising caution, concerned that Liverpool or Newcastle may enter the market for a striker if Isak becomes available — potentially forcing them to retain Jackson as cover.

Bayern sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed the club’s active search for a ready-made striker, stating:

If we can find a player who is physically ready, who scores goals, has assists, and who already has experience, we would be happy to loan that player.

Chelsea Shift Focus to Fermin Lopez as Top Midfield Target

Meanwhile, Chelsea are intensifying their pursuit of Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez, making the young Spanish midfielder their top transfer priority. According to Fichajes, the West London club have increased their offer to €65 million — up from an initial €58 million — and are willing to pay the full amount upfront, a tempting proposal for a Barcelona side facing financial strain.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is believed to be personally invested in the deal, having assured Fermin of a significant role in his project at Stamford Bridge. The player has reportedly been promised regular first-team football and a substantial salary boost — from €6 million gross annually at Barcelona to a potential €15 million package in London.

This shift in focus appears to coincide with Chelsea cooling their interest in RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, making Fermin the club’s clear midfield priority as the window nears its close.

Deadline Day Drama Looms at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea’s transfer dealings have already seen significant activity this summer, with eight new players arriving and 15 departing. But the late-window drama is far from over. Jackson’s fate remains tied to the outcome of the Isak situation, while Fermin Lopez could soon become one of the most expensive midfield signings in the club’s history.

With just days left before the deadline, Chelsea’s calculated wait-and-see approach could pay off — or force them to pivot quickly if the transfer chain doesn’t fall their way.
